L’Imbrûlée traversa la nuit
Through scorched earth and nocturnal depths, a presence moves across the matter.
It never fully reveals itself. Neither figure nor sign, it seems to have passed through fire without being consumed, leaving behind a trajectory, a fault line or the silent trace of a passage.
The wooden edge—preserved in places, worn, struck or torn away in others—extends this transformation beyond the painted surface. The work appears as a fragment detached from an ancient territory, still bearing the marks of what it has crossed.
Harmony and dissonance coexist without resolution. An inexorable force remains: that which resists, transforms and continues on its way in silence.
A presence that remained intact at the heart of the blaze.
